Intu Blinds

Fitted Window & Door Blinds in Colchester, Sudbury & Stowmarket

The Intu blind system fits perfectly inside the frame of most modern UPVC windows and conservatories – including tilt and turn windows and glazed doors. No drilling or screws are required meaning that window frames remain unmarked. By securing into the bead of the window/door, the fixing brackets and mechanism are hidden, light gaps are reduced and shading and heat control are increased. Intu blinds are tensioned to prevent your blind from rattling against the glass when you open your window or door and allows up to 15 degrees of tilt.  They do not have any cords or loops so are completely safe for use around children or pets.  To raise or lower the blind simply move the bottom rail up or down and the tension system holds it perfectly in place.  Their slim design and close fit to the glass means almost no intrusion into the room or loss of window sill space. Available in a variety of blind types and configurations (see below) and offered in a large range of materials including many with specialised solar coatings for added heat saving/reflecting properties. A selection of colour coordinated components and cords are available to match your choice of fabric or surroundings in which the blind is to be installed. A screw fit version is available for use on wooden window frames or for applications unsuitable for bead fitting.

Intu Pleated Blinds

Intu Pleated Blinds

The most popular of the Intu range, pleated blinds provide a warm, soft look to any room. Intu pleated blinds come in a range of over 90 fabrics in a wide choice of colours and finishes. Especially suited for conservatories, many are available with ASC (Advanced Solar Control) backing which allows optimum control of solar heat and light, acting as a barrier to heat loss and offering protection from harmful UV rays. The pleated range also contains performance fabrics that have fire retardant, block out and dim out properties.  Our Intu pleated blinds all use a Unipleat cord to maintain the shape of the folded pleats – preventing them from flattening out over time and bunching up at the bottom like some inferior systems do.

Intu Micro Blinds

Intu Micro Blinds

Bi-fold doors sometimes letting a bit “too” much light into the room? Intu Micro blinds have been designed specifically with bi-fold doors in mind, but can also be used on compact spaces where you may struggle to fit a conventional blind. This versatile design is suitable for a variety of bead types and depths. With a smaller fabric pleat size, you can choose from a range of Hive and Pleated fabrics which can be used in both bi-fold doors and windows which require a more compact blind option.

Intu Cellular Blinds

Intu Cellular Blinds

Similar to pleated Intu blinds, but with a few added benefits for a little added cost. Cellular blinds not only look stylish, they actually help to insulate your home, thus increasing energy efficiency. The honeycomb design traps air, thus keeping rooms cooler in summer and warmer in winter, which is especially useful for conservatories. The unique construction means that there are no visible holes in the fabric giving it a sleek modern look.  There are over 40 fabrics in the Cellular range, with plain colours, patterns and black out to choose from.

Intu Roller Blinds

Intu Roller Blinds

Intu roller blinds are simple to operate – just slide the blind down and twist the bottom bar to lock in any desired position. Unlock and the spring roller will lift the blind. The unique design of the Intu roller low profile fascia gives a sleek, modern appearance. Although a little bulkier than that of the Venetian or Pleated Intu blinds, they are still unobtrusive and usable on opening doors and windows. The design of the Intu Roller blind makes it particularly child safe, eliminating all hanging cord loops and chains.

Intu Venetian Blinds

Intu Venetian Blinds

Available in 15mm or 25mm aluminium slats and a large range of colours including metallic and pearlescent finishes. Simply slide the blind up or down to raise or lower. A slide control on the headrail is moved left or right to adjust the angle of the slats. For hard to reach Intu blinds, a made for purpose operating rod can be used. The rod can be removed and stored until required again.

Multizone Intu Blinds

Multizone Intu Blinds

If you require greater control over shade and light than that offered by a standard Intu blind, Multizone is the solution. Multizone blinds use the same cord tensioning system as a standard pleated blind, but have two moving rails allowing you to operate the blind both at the top and bottom and stopping anywhere in between. Multizone is a feature available with either pleated or cellular Intu blinds.

Colour Co-ordinated

Intu components are available in white, silver or brown. Choose white to match PVCu windows, silver for a modern look or brown to suit timber windows. A large range of cords also ensures a co-ordinating blind when selecting your chosen fabric or slat.

Pleated or Celluar?

Pleated or Celluar?

Pleated fabric is a single layered piece of fabric with folds permantely creased into it – normally at 20mm or 25mm spacing. It is the conventional and more economical pleated blind option at purchase. Cellular fabric (sometimes known as honeycomb or Duette) is more expensive but does offer further economical benefits. The two layer “celled” fabric traps air between the two, offering better insulation against both heat ingress during the summer and heat loss during the winter. It also has the added benefit of hiding the cords of the blinds within the two layers, providing a more aesthetically pleasing finish.
