Venetian blinds are available in a range of both aluminium and wood slatting. They offer a high degree of light control by tilting the angle of the slats and can be raised or lowered as desired. Aluminium Venetian blinds are available in four slat widths: 15mm, 25mm, 35mm and 50mm, while wood is available in 25mm, 35mm, 50mm and 64mm. With aluminium Venetian blinds, the narrower the slat the more light they let through when open. Owing to the flat nature of wood slat this is opposite – the larger the slat the more light. Whereas 25mm is the most popular size for aluminium Venetian blinds it is 50mm that is most popular in wood.

Standard operation is cord operated lift and tilt although a wand operated tilt may be specified. Ideally suited to larger windows.
These are more suited for commercial use and schools, offering a robust window shading option. An extra heavy duty version may be specified. With colour co-ordinated top and bottom rails, standard operation is cord operated lift and tilt. 50mm Venetian blinds are also available with either 25mm or 38mm wide ladder tape instead of the normal ladder braid.
